This workshop provides guidance on personal financial management skills with a focus on people with disabilities. You will learn about:
- Budgeting
- The benefits of using banks
- Tips for opening and managing bank accounts
- Managing debt
- Setting financial goals, and
- Tools to sustain good credit.
The workshop is led by Sarah Gardner, who has been a financial counselor at Apprisen for 25 years. She is an NFCC-certified credit counselor and HUD-certified housing counselor. She enjoys helping people reach their financial goals and improve their financial well-being through counseling, coaching, and education.
Continuing education credits are available for credit counselors through the Society for Financial & Career Consulting Professionals (SFCCP) and National Association of Certified Credit Counselors. (The NACCC charges a $50 fee for the CEUs)
Continuing education credits also are available for certified rehab counselors through the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC).
